Guilty Crown Volume 1

Guilty Vol 1 release pic

So i picked this up with a friend of mind, Tenzinn. Had a few problems with my comp, need to get a new HDD one of them is dying. As always any errors, or improvements leave a comment and I’ll get back to you, if you want to request something just comment on the project page or here.

I’ll be doing three releases for guilty, 720p hi444pp, 720p 10bit and 1080p 10bit.

This release uses Commies’ subs.

The differences between 10 bit and hi444pp can be seen here –

are you using Coalgirls’ Commie edited subs? Or just plain Commie?

Can you do the Monogatari series in 1080p Hi444P or is that a waste of time?

In answer to your first question, we are using Coalgirls. In answer to your second: 1080p hi444pp in itself is a waste of time, but i have considered doing the entire monogatari series in 720p hi444pp, just gotta find some time.

Thanks for this release, really. However, even after seeing the screenshot comparison, I’m not entirely sure I understand what the difference is between Hi10P and Hi444pp… I mean, what’s so good about Hi444pp that you even decided to release it as another version?

Sorry but i don’t see a differences between the screenshot’s and my script blocker and ad blocker where off in chrome.
The only thing to change is the border of the picture from black to grey

If you can’t see the difference, then i wouldn’t suggest downloading it, as you would not benefit from it, but i can assure you there is a large difference in quality, i have shown it to many encoder friends of mine, and they were all able to spot the difference immediately.

The quality and settings of your monitor (TV?) do make a difference. Running dual monitors, there is no change on one of my monitors while I noticed it clearly and immediately on my other monitor. So like nubles said, if you don’t see one, don’t worry about it.

Anyone got a comparison between Nubles and Doki 1080p?

Not sure how to contact you Nubles but just curious if you have any plans on doing Tsuritama. As far as I know no one has done the BD for them. Either way I’m looking forward to the Maouyuu, Mondaiji, GJ-Bu, and Yamato 1080p batches. Keep up the great work

I’ve only downloaded a couple of their releases, but the quality does not appear to be very good. They appear to do nothing with the source and just shift the subs by a fixed amount for the whole script (based purely off their Sankarea release, which had pretty bad banding issues that Doki fixed).
With the sheer quantity of shows they do, it wouldn’t surprise me if that was what they did, and they’re one of the last groups I’d go to for a BD rip.
Of course, if the source is decent and there’s no new content added, it could be quite good.

And thanks for all your releases, though I haven’t actually dled any yet (waiting for batches).
